I dreamed up this bracelet standing by the camp fire talking to Dr Matt Becker, CEO of our beneficiary, the Zambian Carnivore Programme. I was surrounded by inspirational people committed to conservation. A unique group of friends who lived in the African bush and thought nothing of the snake in their bathroom or scorpion on their pillow as they passionately fulfilled their calling.
I was in awe of their company and aware I didn't quite fit in. I cared deeply about our planet but lacked relevant skills to make a difference. Science and Geography didn't come naturally to me; I regarded the Periodic table with dismay and don't get me started on the boredom I felt throwing a Quadrat on Field trips.
As Matt and I discussed how I should sell snare jewellery the vision jumped in. I wanted to design a bracelet where anyone could lean into conservation.
The hammered snare bracelet was created with that unifying purpose. It is fun to wear and nothing too complicated; a simple statement of care. Each sale donates to conservation, invests in our courageous Zambian team and tells an empowering story.
