Design detail: You will feel vibrant & joyful in this delicate necklace which represents your compassion and love for rural Africa.

Using locally sourced lucky beans mixed with upcycled poachers' snares and handmade metal beads this collection takes over 2.5 hours to handcraft. Lucky beans are so named as they symbolize the coming of the rains. The skill of our team to drill each tiny seed is matched by their ability to transform poachers' traps into slimline bars that underpin this singularly African look.

Fusing reclaimed poachers' traps, local materials and international beads we celebrate and invest in the African bush through creativity. Handmade by our rural Zambian team each piece is slightly different. Every sale donates to Zambian conservation.

Materials that Make a Difference

We make every snare trap bead and piece of jewelry by hand; you can feel the energy and power of our work in each piece.

We design with locally sourced materials capturing the unique beauty of the African bush whilst maximizing support for our community.

To date we support over 50 rural artisans and entrepreneurs and buy over 30,000 locally sourced beads annually. This impacts the lives of over 300 people in our rural African community.

Donation per sale

With every piece sold we donate $2.50 to conservation and remove brutal snare traps from circulation. We have raised over $150,000 to date and cut up over 39,000 poachers’ traps.

We donate to Conservation South Luangwa, the Zambian Carnivore Programme and Conservation Lower Zambezi. These Zambian NGO’s, in partnership with DNPW and supported by WWF and the EU, work tirelessly and bravely to protect our wildlife.

Our Pangolin and Rhino conservation designs donate an additional $2.50 per sale to the Pangolin Crisis Fund and Stop Rhino Poaching respectively.

Product Care

Snare wire is a metal and rusts, but this is easily managed. The best way is to use P1200 sandpaper to gently remove rust; we provide a piece in each online order.

Every product page has a care instruction of either: Keep away from water, Water resistant or Water proof.

Many locally sourced materials are fragile but not all. Guinea fowl feathers are extremely resilient and can be reshaped using your fingertips when the feathers split; they must be kept flat during travel. Seeds are not waterproof.
